The reputation of the new poker site Victory Poker is an interesting one for many reasons. One reason is that they came out of nowhere and appear to have spent a lot of money on branding getting TV commercials with sponsored poker pros. But from a technical marketing point of view one must be very wary of the reputation of Victory Poker network. Let's look at the marketing strategies of Victory Poker that launched early in 2010.
Professional Poker players at Victory Poker
The starting lineup of poker pros is a good one that includes some familiar names in the poker world and some internet pros that are just starting to get in the spotlight now. The lineup of professional poker players includes Antonio Esfandiari, Andrew "good2cu" Robl, Dan Bilzerian, David "The Maven" Chicotsky, Paul Wasicka, Lee Markholt, Alec Torelli and Sara Underwood. Not bad for a rookie poker room competing against the giants of Pokerstars and Fulltilt. The list of pros and models on the site sends a good message of reputation and trust.
Reputation in TV Campaigns
If you have watched any TV or some of the VP video promotions they do a good job as well. The site seems to come to life with these programs and you know the pros and CEO Dan Fleyshman are real people promoting a real poker room and something more serious than whosyourdaddy energy drinks. These guys are always on TV and camera ready
Online Campaigns and online marketing
Although their image and reputation appear strong their online marketing efforts seem to contradict their branding efforts. The software used is Everleaf which isn't the most user friendly poker client and for poker affiliates it is even more frustrating to work with. In their search engine rankings they seem to be all over the place.
They say image and reputation are everything. Let's see if Victory Poker collect themselves and become the best online poker room.
