Art Diary page 2

It is now several weeks later, and I am taking two new classes.  One is a portrait class, as I took above, but with a different instructor.  I am taking a figure drawing class with her as well.  She is a wonderful artist, but I am struggling with her classes.   

I felt rushed and  a bit stressed as I did the pictures below.  We were only given about 20-25 minutes each to work on them. They were not live model pictures - they were both done of the same plaster cast model. Though they were done from different angles, they should have looked more alike. The plaster cast had a big dimpled chin and a cro-magnon-like brow.

5/8/08 - Figure drawing class today.  I was pretty pleased with today's class.  But it was also very strange because there was a naked man there.  Very, very naked.  Not a stitch of clothing.  Took me a few minutes before I could actually look at him without blushing. How he could stand there naked in a classroom filled with middle-aged women who were not just looking at him, but studying every nuance and detail of his physique, is beyond me.

We concentrated on arms and legs. You will see nothing scandalous in the following pictures:
