This is hilarious, Gail.
What I don't like about BG is the lack of humor. I'm a big fan of grim humor and BG just doesn't have enough of it. When they did do joke shows, it was pretty funny. But normally, they get this weird "drama" scenes where it just feels too contrived to me. Being someone that knows something about propaganda and manipulating people's emotions with music and video, some of the stuff on BG is pretty obvious to me. And it feels like entertainment than being manipulated.
I can see the wizard behind the showcurtain so to speak.

Glad you enjoyed the video. Yes, Battlestar is a darker show. I really enjoy science fiction and I like the complexity of the story and the characters. Some more humor would be a nice addition, I agree.

Also compared to Legends of the Galactic Heroes, a Japanese anime I blogged about, there is just no "charisma" in BG. There's a lot of accurate military stuff, believe it or not, in BG, but the politics and persona drama stories tend to make things awkward.
Also, one reason I stopped watching BG except for downloading free episodes was the media anti-American and anti-iraqi propaganda that was occuring in that time period and is still occuring. One source of feeling manipulated was quite enough for me, thank you very much. One source of death and despair without a trace of justice or goodness, was enough for me. Didn't need to watch a fictional show for more angst.
