Unfair and Unbalanced
Goldie Hawn recently spoke at a Jewish fundraising event in Scotland, where she was met by pro-Palestinian protestors. Here's an example of coverage of the protest from a Scottish newspaper:
Palestine Campaigners Confront Goldie Hawn At Scottish Event
GOLDIE HAWN was confronted by furious protesters as she arrived at a fund-raising dinner last night.
About 200 members of the Stop The War Coalition and the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign turned up at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow.
They chanted as the actress gave a talk called "Laughter Is The Best Medicine" at the Jewish National Fund event.
Israel has killed more than 120 Palestinians in recent attacks on Gaza.
That's the article in its entirety. Not a word about anything the Palestinians have done leaving the impression they are innocents and the Israelis are ruthless killers.
Lovely.

And the Scotsman called the terorrist, Dhaim, "a good boy.

The real problem is that Israelis "aren't" ruthless killers. The kind of propaganda used here works inversely proportional to how much of what they claim is real. It does classical liberals no good to claim that totalitarian tyrants are friends of the human race, because it will not accomplish our goals of getting rid of them. Thus the same applies to the media and other folks fighting against Israel. It does them no good to claim that Israel is too forgiving and merciful, because that does not serve the purpose of demoralizing, hamstringing, and weakening Israel.
When was the last time such media folks claimed that Islam is responsible for violence unheard of since the bad old days?
We have to call evil, evil, because we want to get rid of them. Calling evil something that is "good" or beneficial, doesn't get rid of them. The enemies of Israel, however, wishes to promote evil and thus they cannot really say of evil that it is a bad thing to be avoided. So they must slander the good and promote the evil. Otherwise, people won't choose Palestine over Israel. And that would be a bad thing to such folks.
