Have You Ever?
Have you ever spent an hour that you really couldn't afford to spend writing a long post, and when it was finished, you clicked the post-and-save button only to receive the error message, "Out of memory at line 1,204" and watched in horror as the entire post disappeared?
Eh, maybe it just wasn't meant to be.
I'm not going to re-write it, but it was based upon this. The last line was going to have been: We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal, except that some Europeans, without evidence, believe themselves to be superior.

Those who lack real power, ability, imagination, energy, or integrity project those aspects upon others. Ignore the whining. Europeans have been saved from their generational war history by US power and willingness to act as their shield. If the US falters Europe will again break into warring clans and tribes. Their failure to act in Kosovo and weakness before the Soviet Union at its break-up show their true beliefs. They fear the future more than than killers in their midst...
Their culture is a perpetuation of the srfdom of old dressed in a thin cloak of democracy. Their class envy and bigotry is revealed with little scratching... They bow before economic and military power and bluster, puff and parade about when the danger is past.
They have created a ticking bomb among their ME/Islamist emigres. Their refusal to admit them to society will explode one day and they will turn to the US to save them from monsters of their own making... AGAIN...

Yes. And no matter how rude to us they are, we will be there for them. I wonder, do the concepts of friendship and loyalty exist in Europe?

Of course concepts of friendship and loyalty exist there. To think otherwise is a charicature of Europeans as a group. This works both ways: I often read descriptions of America by Europeans that bear no resemblence to anything that I have experienced in this country.

The statement was an exaggeration and not meant literally, but I do question European values. I do not think they were as loyal to the US as they could have been in lead up to the Iraq war nor after it began, and I do remember the fact - though yes it's true that it was long ago - that many were only too willing to point out to the nazis who of their neighbors was Jewish.

I think I would have been forced to denounce the Mayor, the Chief of Police and the head of the nation... and all the other would be slave owners I could think of...
There is only one way to resist the barbarian and that is -To Resist With Force and Conviction-... Surrender to barbarians does not shrink their numbers nor weaken their bloodlust...

Obama’s election would have a different kind of impact. The pride of Blacks and all minorities persecuted due to skin color makes more sense. It would be a paradigm shift and a powerful liberating stimulus. And watch out for the name. After John, Bill, and George will succeed to the presidency President Barack Hussein Obama. That would represent a real mental and symbolic change that seems more in line with a Hollywood thriller.
Anybody running games with human lives based upon "Hollywood thrillers" needs to be taken out of consideration.
