You know, G., that's just freakin' weird. I can have serious policy disagreements with virtually any government or government official, anywhere, anytime, but describing them in sexual terms is so extremely unusual that even if I didn't know the issue at hand, I would question the judgement of anyone who said something like this - left, right, or center....on any issue.

I don't like saying this because I don't like adding to the polarization between left and right, but it sounds very much like the fringe looney left to me. (Haaretz is probably a bit left of the NYTimes) If you read comments on some of the leftie blogs, they use lots of sexual references. I don't think they see it as depraved - I think they believe they are being risque, bravely "speaking truth to power" and oh so very artsy. They've forgotten how to draw the line or why it should be drawn at all. (Pseudo)freedom and self-expression uber alles.

Well, it's wacky. For example, I oppose the government of North Korea, but I don't want to see the country "raped." I want them to transition to a voting democracy where people have property rights, freedom to read whatever they want, the right to unionize, start newspapers...but I don't dream about having sex with Kim Jung-Il. It should be possible for this guy to take an extreme position and advocate the dissolution of the Israeli state without involving his winkydoodle in the discussion.
