California Wildfire

Wildfiretopper

Horrendous. Thoughts and prayers with all who are suffering through it.

When I was sixteen, I rode my bicycle from the Bay Area to San Diego to visit a girlfriend who had moved there. They lived in Rancho Bernardo. I hadn't thought of her family in years and have no idea if they're still there...but the fire burned over where they used to live.

That's a long bike ride!

It took eight days; three days out we hit 112 degree weather in the middle of the Salinas Valley. That slowed us down to just 45 miles that day.
