Alisa's Interview

Wonderful replies, Alisa.  Thanks for volunteering to be interviewed. : )

1. If you could transport yourself to another time - past or present, and live invisibly for a week, which time would you choose and why?

I am not big on sci-fi or futuristic, so if I had to chose another time than the present, I would go back---I would have loved the 20s I think! Love the clothes, the music, the dancing, the cars, the craziness! It would be very hard for me to be invisible and not join in the fun! I am sure there were bad times, but I only "see" the fun times.

2. If you could ony pass on one piece of parenting advice to future parents of the world, what would it be?

Do not live vicariously through your child or children; allow them to be themselves and guide them as they develop their own sense of self.

3. What are your three favorite books and three favorite movies?

Les Miserables by Victor Hugo The Stand by Stephen King The Bible KJV because I am still trying to not only understand it all, but what it means to me personally

It Happened One Night (love Clark and Claudette) Silence of the Lambs (big Hopkins fan) Pulp Fiction (sick sick puppy that I am, but I love the way this was done)

4. Describe your favorite meal.

I am very simple.

I don't eat breakfast.

Casual would be cheeseburger, onion rings and a diet coke.

Big meal would be very rare filet mignon, salad with vinegar and oil, baked potato loaded and red wine.

Snack - cheetos and diet coke (with lots of napkins!)

5. If you could invite any 5 people, living or dead, to a dinner party, who would you choose and why?

I am almost afraid to answer this because you really will know what a sick puppy I am!

Charles Manson. Early on, I was totally fascinated and followed every piece of material I could read or see on television. Every interview. I still do! I think he was brilliant (until the drugs took him over and he appears to be totally and recognizably out of his head) and utilized a unique method of mind control over a group of interestingly weak people. He brought out the worst, never actually killed, and yet is considered a serial killer. He has manipulated for a very long time, the media, the public, the courts. He scares the hell out of me. Or in to me. But still, if he was behind glass, I'd like to have him at my dinner party. LOL

Jesus. I figure he could sit by Charlie. I would love to pick his brain about the sequence of events during the OT leading to and through the NT and why we aren't all on the same page. I'd also like to see if he really embraces all that I've been taught. Meaning, will he see me and Charlie in the same light? Or what. And if he does, how will I handle being in the same light as a serial killer?

George W. Bush. I love his humour. I think (and I realize I am very alone in most respects) he uses his intelligence in a clever way, and one has to really pay attention to "get it" as he "meant it"---of course, that is hard for him since he has been dubbed (no pun) a dummy. I will take him over Al Gore any day. Besides he has a cuter butt than ol' Al---you know, looks better in wranglers and boots. :-)

Betty Ford. She cracks me up. I think she could keep the conversation going and liven up the party. I loved her from the minute she told the world nothing was going to keep her from sleeping with her husband. I don't know, that just seemed the right thing to say. She handled alcoholism and cancer with such dignity and so real-like. She was the first president's wife I thought would be the same outside the hearing of a microphone and camera as in front of it. I could identify with her. I think many can.

Kinky Friedman. I know I know, but I had to have an author as much as I read. It was either him or Willie Nelson, and I think Kinky would fit better with my group. I very much enjoy his ability to bring his world to mine and everyone else's. He makes no excuses and is quite happy to be known for all that he is known. Blatantly so, I believe. Besides, I want this a well rounded table politically, religiously and deadly. LOL

Now what to serve, what to serve!

That is quite possibly the best answer to question number 5 (or something similar to it) that I've ever read. I would so want to go to that dinner party.

As would I! Excellent questions and answers, I enjoyed reading them.
