Anti-War Rally Pictures
San Francisco lefty loonies, March 18, 2007, by ZombieTime. It's the usual combination of hysterically funny and hair-raisingly horrifying.
At the moment it's loading very slowly. I suspect the site is experiencing a ton of activity.

Some friends of mine attended this rally. In my turn, I attended a speech last night by Elias Rashmawi, which prompted my latest Hot, or Not? feature. Oh, I see the trackback worked.
I'm having a hard time with whether I want to blog about the experience. Typical "poor us, evil Zionist" bullshit lacking historical context.

Thanks for linking, Mark.
As far as the speech you attended, I'd be interested in hearing your impressions. Was it a big crowd? Were supporters of Israel present? If so, how were they treated?
I can't imagine what things are like on the "left" coast. In the northern part of Virginia, we get an interesting mix. There are transplants living here from all over the world. At the mall there are lots and lots of women in head scarves and even some in full body bags with just their eyes showing. There are government types and lobbyists and people from both sides of the aisle. There are sophisticated cosmopolitans and there are country folks. There are military people and anti-war people. It almost feels like a 50-50 split between conservative and liberals. And there's absolutely no fighting or protesting south of the DC line. People have their ideas, but they are not in your face about them. You do see bumper stickers on cars, but once again, the hate Bush stickers are equaled by the purple heart license plates, American flags and military academy decals.
Frankly, I think living in a place like SF (which I absolutely love - it's beautiful) would just kill me in terms of politics. I'd probably turn into one of those crazy folks mumbling to themselves on the street.

Gail - I'll put something together about it soon.
It's really not as bad as it appears to be from some reports.
I live in a town that is a bastion of Far Left folks as well as Rightwingers and all between. We get along great. Maybe because we know to leave each other alone...
